Wrapping Up the SBLUG December 2015 Meet

The final meet up for the year was one of the best. Many of the community members braved the 40 degree heat to get together for our Christmas break up. We had SO much food thanks to everyone who contributed and also our event sponsors Itty Bitty BricksLAYGO and Toys R Go.

Nicky and the Community Builder team did a great job organising the day. There were plenty of fun activities such as “Guess the Bricks”, “Pin the Pants on the Minifig” and the Secret Santa lucky dip. At the event we also saw our community mosaic finally come together to reveal a LEGO clown! Thanks to Tim and Michael for coordinating all the pieces and squares to get us to the final product.

Another highlight was the collection donations for the Building a Better Christmas toy drive. Seeing our community come together in support of families in need was a great display of generosity.

We also need to say a big thanks to Katharine at the City of West Torrens. She’s been a huge support for the group all year and allowed us to meet at the Hamra Centre Gallery. When the weather forecast hit 40 degrees, we knew we needed an indoor alternative and she came to our rescue! The air conditioned gallery was a nice escape from the heat. For the outdoor barbecue, made use of the City of West Torrens’ marquees, tables and chairs at no cost thanks to their support for community groups.

It’s been an amazing year for Southern Bricks LEGO User Group and we’re looking forward to a fun 2016! Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the group and the events.
